April Court 1788

In the name of God, Amen. I, Joseph Pogue being in perfect mind and sound memory but well knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make this my last will and testament. I give and bequeath to my two sons, John and Joseph each one hundred and 25 acres of land being part of the land I now live on to be divided . John one yearling horse. I give to Joseph all the remainder of my estate goods and chattels.

I lend to my beloved wife Sarah during her natural life and then to be equally divided amongst my surviving children.

(It appears he gave lifetime rights to Sarah)
